AgriSeta Stakeholder Excellence Awards

Scientific Roots in synergy with our AgriBioTech Incubator have been implementing our Agripreneurial and Contract Grower Development Model since 2018. The model comprises accredited Skills Development through the NQF 4 New Venture Creation, NQF 2 Plant Production, NQF 2 Animal Production and NQF 1 Poultry Production Qualifications, Product Development Innovation in our Innovation Lab, Business support (accounting, branding, IP), mentorship and, safety, efficacy, proof-of-concept and shelf-life research, with an emphasis on indigenous, but also conventional, resource utilisation in a rural setting. Appropriate and accessible infrastructure and equipment, relevant institutional arrangements and targeted skills development is key to the model, which targets rural youth, women and people living with disabilities. Our Vision 20/5000 through Synergy (20 established agricultural value-adding enterprises, sourcing niche, alternative, high-value resources from 5000 small-scale farmers), guides our work. 

We were recently honoured for our progress in these goals by AgriSETA awarding us the

“Best Project targeting People Living with Disabilities” 

and runner-up in the category 

“Agripreneurship” 

A testament to our commitment and excellence in rural entrepreneurial development, job-creation, self empowerment and livelihood improvement in rural South Africa.
