Company Background: History, Ownership, and Location

ETHNIC STAPLES was founded on January 15, 2023, at the Scientific Roots AgriBioTech Campus.

The company is the creation of Zimkhitha Mpofu, a passionate young woman with a love for cooking and baking, inspired by her time spent with her great-grandmother. Zimkhitha’s journey began with a deep appreciation for baking traditional staples like bread and vetkoek.

With the mentorship of Agribiotech, and support through technical expertise, funding, research, and innovative equipment, Zimkhitha seized the opportunity to establish ETHNIC STAPLES. Zimkhitha vision is to blend cultural diversity into everyday staples, creating products that resonate across various ethnic backgrounds. 

By infusing vegetables and herbs into traditional recipes, ETHNIC STAPLES brings a unique twist to the table—truly living up to its motto, “A Cultural Vegetable & Herb Infusion.”
